Community Events

The Kehilla Residential Programme thrives on community involvement, and our success is a direct result of the support that we receive from people within the community.

Fundraiser

On December 17th, 2007 Kehilla hosted its first fundraiser “Gimme Shelter and Laughs,” an evening of improv at the Diesel Theatre, in celebration of the Agency’s 25th anniversary.  Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we raised $26,000, and increased awareness of the need for affordable housing. Thank you to the show’s producers and all the actors who generously donated their time and talent!

Recognition

In May 2006, the Kehilla Residential Programme received recognition from UJA Federation of Greater Toronto for its role in the establishment and administration of the Jewish Community Affordable Rental Program (JCARP). This innovative initiative has successfully assisted families in need to find affordable housing within the Jewish community.

One HOT Day

Young Jewish professionals volunteer on projects within the community as part of United Jewish Appeal's Impact Toronto. Ours is an annual planting day called “One Hot Day” and the results are illustrated above. The perennial plants were donated by Valleybrook Nursery and the annuals were donated by Mr. Bill. Thank you to both for helping green our buildings with your generous donations!
