Staff

Kehilla’s team is dedicated to helping the Jewish community to improve their quality of life through affordable housing initiatives.

Lisa Lipowitz
Executive Director

As Kehilla’s Executive Director, Lisa Lipowitz is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Kehilla. With over 40 years of experience serving the Jewish Community, Lisa has been an integral part of Kehilla’s growth since 1988.

Beyond her ongoing responsibilities for day-to-day operations, her position as Executive Director includes collaborating with other community agencies, pursuing development partners, fundraising and government relations, while always seeking new affordable housing opportunities within Toronto’s Jewish community.

Marla Rotsztain
Agency Support Coordinator

As Kehilla’s Agency Support Coordinator, Marla plays many roles.  First and foremost, she coordinates the direct service delivery of the Rental Assistance Program (RAP) and is often the first contact with RAP clients.  Marla is responsible for the administrative functions of the organization, keeping Kehilla’s fundraising on track, and works with the Events Committee to organize all our awareness-raising events.

Marsha Michael
Bookkeeper

As Kehilla’s bookkeeper, for 15 years, Marsha is responsible for the agency’s financial reporting for all Kehilla’s undertakings.

Among her various responsibilities, Marsha works in tandem with the Agency Support Coordinator and the RAP Administrative Assistant to ensure RAP recipients receive their funds.

Adriana Lamprea
Rental Assistance Program Administrative Assistant

Adriana is the newest member of the Kehilla team. As Rental Assistance Program (RAP) Administrative Assistant, Adriana is responsible for contacting applicants and guiding them through the application process, as well as maintaining and updating all databases relating to Kehilla’s Rental Assistance Program.

Nancy Singer z”l

Nancy Singer (1952-2021) had a deep passion for affordable housing. Her commitment to provide more affordable housing to the Jewish community’s most vulnerable residents has been inspirational. Over the past four decades, Nancy has also played a vital role in shaping the City’s housing policy and practices, including advocating on behalf of all not-for-profit groups to have better access to affordable housing.

Nancy’s well-rounded background as a development professional has included work for the City of Toronto’s Planning and Housing Departments, as a private consultant, and as the former Executive Director and Director of Strategic Initiatives of Kehilla.

Throughout her entire career, Nancy Singer has mentored students, co-workers, and volunteers who have grown to become leaders in the planning and housing fields. As a talented leader, she has brought everyone together over one mutual goal: creating more inclusive housing for all. Toronto’s Jewish Community is immeasurably better because of Nancy’s passion and commitment to affordable housing.
