Adam Cohen, President

Kehilla Residential Programme

Adam Cohen is a real estate executive with 25 years of experience across multiple disciplines, including numerous asset classes, acquisitions and dispositions, syndications, financing, development, leasing, and consulting.  Now a partner at a private firm, Adam was a principal at NOVI Properties, a private multi-residential firm, and acquisitions manager at CanFirst Capital Management, which specialized in industrial and commercial assets.

In addition to his real estate work, Adam invests in angel and series A funding of IT-based startups, often as lead investor. Adam worked in video production communications and internet marketing earlier in his career.

What makes volunteering with Kehilla meaningful to you?

Growing up as a grandchild of Holocaust survivors made Adam acutely aware of the importance and fragility of preserving one’s Jewish identity and values, as well as the importance of safe shelter. The number of vulnerable Jewish households facing housing insecurity in the city is alarming and continues to grow. Affordable shelter is essential for providing stability to all household members. It allows families to study, share Shabbat meals, and contribute to the future of our Jewish community—meaningful work that Adam is proud to support through Kehilla.

What’s your favourite Jewish tradition and why?

Adam’s favourite (unofficial) Jewish tradition is the preservation of Yiddish, which connects us to our past, present, and future.
